Valuable advice from one of the founders of Dutch Leaders about asking for help, what might be holding you back and how to move beyond the stuckness. Had me reflecting on my own avoidance of an uncomfortable conversation or procrastination on a decision. I’ve learnt to challenge myself by asking “what do I have to gain vs what have I got to lose?”, which has led to many brave steps in my life. However, receiving a loving ‘dare’ and clear nudge to make a radical move or a sharp question from someone who cares and speaks from experience is exactly that push which one sometimes needs. This was also in line with the reflection of a Country Lead after two-day leadership and team development training I was doing in Wasserburg, Germany* this week: we need to be more daring towards each other to reach a higher potential and velocity of decision making. While having each other’s back of course!*in a mix of English and German 😅 (thanks Mutti for passing your language on to me!)So I agree with Pierre Mellegers McM in pointing out that we can benefit from coaching, mentioning and peer-to-peer intervision. By design, us humans lived in tribes. So by lack of being born into one, we can gather around us an intentional tribe.
