A12 THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 13, 2014 WWW.KANSASCITY.COMTHE KANSAS CITY STAR. REMEMBRANCES GEORGE WALTER BLEIER My God loving man, George Walter Bleier of Belton, MO went peacefully to his Maker February 7, 2014 at home, his loving wife by his side. We traveled much. He was a good com- panion, had a great sense of humor, was a very good dancer; was a good role model and he was my better half. George was born on 25th and Charlotte, Kansas City, MO June, 1923.

He attended and gradu- ated from Our Lady of Sorrows Elementary School and Westport High School in Kansas City, MO. He entered WWII in the Army Air Force and earned the rank of Sergeant and the medal for expert rifleman. George was on Iwo Jima when the war ended. He returned to civilian life and with to work at Bendix Corporation and retired Bendix- Honeywell after 32 years. George was part of the Bendix Skeet Shoot Club and was a member of IA Ma- chinist Union since 1946.

He also was the author of the following poem; which earned choice award. butterfly, butterfly, how beautiful you are Fluttering over the flowers, near and far. So many colors to choose, the reds, yellows, pinks and blues. No ballerina can match your grace as you dance silently about With those large colorful wings. What a delight and how peaceful it is To see you stop here and there To sample the sweet nectar that is there Watching you glide about in such meandering ways Make my worries and cares just melt away.

Summer is ending and winter is near. So, dear friend, I know you must be leaving But, butterfly, please, please, return another day And again take my worries and cares away. George Walter Bleier George was preceded in death by his parents, Daniel Anton and Theresa Bleier, his sister, Louise Bleier, and his brothers, Bernard Bleier (Jean) and Lawrence Bleier (Lyla).
